“CAREER DECISION MAKING” - Workshop with O’NET Interest Inventory: this workshop is for the undecided career changer that is looking for a starting point. The workshop includes an Interest Inventory to identify your Holland Occupational Code. From there we look to the High Priority Occupation List (HPO) as well as other market trends to determine future growth trends. The workshop also includes information on preparing for college and financial aid.   Top of page

 

 

“COMPUTER BASICS” – Learn the basics of how to use a computer and different software programs. Topics include how to use the keyboard and mouse, how to use Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and more.    Top of page

“MASTERING JOBGATEWAY® AND OTHER ONLINE SEARCH TIPS” – This comprehensive workshop shows you how to use all aspects of the JobGateway® and CWDS websites and access the wealth of information available at your fingertips. Learn how to enhance your resume, search for employers and wages by county, complete online and paper applications, copy and paste resumes in plain text, email resumes as attachments and use employer websites. ORIENTATION TO EDUCATION ASSISTANCE” - Learn about what the Educational Opportunity Centers, Inc. (EOC) can offer you in the way of financial assistance for education and training. Career decision making and training opportunities will be discussed. If interested, you will have the opportunity to take the interest profile test or schedule an appointment to speak with a representative. Orientation will last approximately 1/2 hour. Registrants will receive a free copy of the SCORE workbook, “Simple Steps for Starting Your Business.”

 

 

“STATE CIVIL SERVICE SEMINAR” – Do you want to find out how to apply for Civil Service jobs? This workshop will help you understand how Civil Service works and how to apply to take Civil Service exams in order to get a State or County government job. We’ll also cover information on how to apply for Federal, US Postal Service and Non-Civil Service positions.
