“CAREER DECISION MAKING” - Workshop with O’NET Interest Inventory: this workshop
is for the undecided career changer that is looking for a starting point. The
workshop includes an Interest Inventory to identify your Holland Occupational
Code. From there we look to the High Priority Occupation List (HPO) as well as
other market trends to determine future growth trends. The workshop also
includes information on preparing for college and financial aid. Top of page
“COMPUTER BASICS” – Learn the basics of how to use a computer and
different software programs. Topics include how to use the keyboard and mouse,
how to use Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and more. Top of page
“INTERVIEWING
SKILLS” – This session will cover tips, ways to prepare, questions
to expect and the do’s and don’ts of interviews. A PowerPoint presentation will
also be included along with a question and answer period. *Minimum of 3 Individuals needed.* Top

“JOB CORPS ORIENTATION” - Job Corps
offers opportunities for youth age 16-24 to prepare themselves for employment
and independent living. After registering for this event, you must call

“MASTERING JOBGATEWAY® AND OTHER
ONLINE SEARCH TIPS” – This
comprehensive workshop shows you how to use all aspects of the JobGateway® and CWDS
websites and access the wealth of information available at your fingertips. Learn
how to enhance your resume, search for employers and wages by county, complete
online and paper applications, copy and paste resumes in plain text, email
resumes as attachments and use employer websites. Don’t hesitate to bring your

“ORIENTATION TO EDUCATION ASSISTANCE” - Learn about what the Educational
Opportunity Centers, Inc. (EOC) can offer you in the way of financial assistance
for education and training. Career decision making and training opportunities
will be discussed. If interested, you will have the opportunity to take the
interest profile test or schedule an appointment to speak with a
representative. Orientation will last approximately 1/2 hour. If you choose to
stay for the interest profile test, it will be an additional 1 to 1½ hours in length. Top of page
“RESUME WORKSHOP” – Develop a resume that will get noticed by employers.
Learn how to create a resume that enhances your strengths and capabilities.
Learn about the three different styles and discover which one best fits your

“SIMPLE STEPS TO START YOUR BUSINESS” – Learn how to start or improve your Small
Business! Girish Sud, Chairman of LV SCORE, will
teach you the basics of starting or improving your business by highlighting:
Business Plan Basics, Marketing Your Business, Competitive Research, and
Finding Financing. Registrants will receive a free copy of the SCORE workbook,
“Simple Steps for Starting Your Business.”
“STATE CIVIL SERVICE SEMINAR” – Do you want to find out how to apply for
Civil Service jobs? This workshop will help you understand how Civil Service
works and how to apply to take Civil Service exams in order to get a State or
County government job. We’ll also cover information on how to apply for
Federal, US Postal Service and Non-Civil Service positions. Learn what websites
to look at – how to complete an electronic application and the hiring
