2022 Summer Jobs and Internships

The Carbon County Workforce Training Office is accepting applications for the 2022 Summer Youth Employment Program. The jobs/internships are at local, non-profit, government and community based organizations throughout Carbon County. Job duties vary depending on worksite assignment. Applicants must be residents of Carbon County and meet eligibility requirements.

What is Commuter Services of Pennsylvania and how can the free services benefit you?


Commuter Services of Pennsylvania promotes transit, carpooling, vanpooling, etc., to work. Anyone that lives or works in Adams, Berks, Carbon, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Monroe, Perry, Pike, Schuylkill, and York counties is eligible to enroll. Commuter Services of Pennsylvania maintains a confidential rideshare program of commuters traveling to worksites who want to share the ride. After they process your application, you will receive a list of other commuters who share the same travel pattern and schedule. It is up to you to contact someone on your list to start a carpool. Should you need further support, Commuter Services of Pennsylvania staff can assist you.

FREE GED CLASSES

The Carbon Career and Technical Institute in partnership with Lehigh Carbon Community College will be offering FREE GED preparation classes. Evening and day sessions are available. Click here for further information.

 

GET THE TRAINING IT TAKES TO GET THE JOB YOU WANT

If you're currently unemployed, lost your job due to a plant closure or permanent layoff, or living on a low income, you may qualify for help with your training needs. Carbon County Workforce Training can determine if you qualify for training assistance through one of the following programs:
  • Financial Aid for Vocational Training assists with the costs of training programs at area vocational technical schools, community colleges and private training institutions.

  • On-the-Job Training Vouchers may be used in your efforts to find job opportunities with employers who are willing to train new employees.
